Product Design

From a one-page brief to a launched v1, with founders pre product-market-fit.

Overview

From a one-page brief to a launched v1. We work with founders pre product-market-fit, run discovery, ship the MVP, and iterate based on what users actually do — not what they say in interviews.

Product design pre product-market-fit is different work from designing for a mature product. The job is to find what's worth building, ship it small, and learn fast. We're skeptical of the meaty 100-page PRD and partial to the two-week proof-of-concept — usually that proof teaches you what the PRD wouldn't have.

We've shipped MVPs in fintech, real estate, hospitality, and consumer mobile, usually as a brand+product combination so the launch lands as one thing. The sweet spot is founders who have a clear hypothesis, a budget that allows two iteration cycles, and the patience to do real user testing instead of opinion-based QA.

What we deliver

  • User research
  • Product strategy
  • Journey mapping
  • Concept validation

How it goes

01. Hypothesis

Two weeks of stakeholder interviews and quick competitive review to land on a sharp hypothesis: who will use this, what problem is it actually solving, and what would success look like in three months.

02. Concept

Three to five core flows designed in low-to-mid fidelity, plus a clickable prototype we put in front of 5-8 potential users. We come back with what to keep, what to drop, and what to test bigger.

03. MVP

We design and build a launchable v1 — opinionated, narrow, missing features on purpose. Typically 6-10 weeks depending on scope.

04. Iterate

Post-launch we watch what users do (analytics + session replay), not what they say. Two-week iteration cycles, each ending with a measurable improvement to one metric you've picked.

Common questions

Do you co-found products?

No equity-only deals. We've seen too many of those go sideways. We work for cash + (occasionally) a small advisory equity grant after the engagement is delivered. Keeps the incentives clean.

What stage of company do you work with?

Pre-seed through Series A. After that you usually want a full-time design lead, not an outside studio.

What if our hypothesis is wrong?

Then it's wrong, and we'd rather know in week three than in month six. We'll say so plainly. The process is designed to surface that — fast — instead of building a polished version of the wrong thing.

Have a product design project in mind?

Tell us what you're building. We'll come back within a working day with a proposed scope, timeline, and price.
